Tottenham moved within one point of the top four after beating Southampton at St Mary’ s Stadium.
Two goals from Dele Alli and strikes from Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son, helped Spurs overturn an early Virgil Van Dijk goal to boost their Champions League qualification hopes.
Kane blasted a second half penalty over the bar after Nathan Redmond was controversially shown a red card for dragging down Alli. However, the forward’s tackle was initially outside the box and made little to contact with the Spurs midfielder in the penalty area.
The result leaves Mauricio Pochettino’s men within one point of rivals Arsenal, while Southampton remain in eighth place.
