By coincidence, Mauricio and his coaching staff took charge of their first game for Southampton against Everton on January 21, 2013. It ended in a 0-0 draw at St Mary’s.
Now he’s back again, having switched Saints for Spurs in the summer of 2014. Since then, Mauricio, Jesus Perez, Miguel D’Agostino and Toni Jimenez have taken us to third and second in the Premier League and, this season, top of a Champions League group that included Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
“It was five years ago that we made our debut at Southampton against Everton,” said Mauricio.
