It was two years ago last week that fresh-faced teenager Dele Alli signed for Tottenham Hotspur in the last knockings of the transfer window.
The fee Spurs paid MK Dons upfront was £5million. Just process that for a moment in the light of what’s happened in the two years since. Five million quid.
Alli himself perhaps put it best on the anniversary of his arrival the other day: ‘Time flies when you’re having fun.’
He may still appear baby-faced, but the progress Alli has made in those two years has been nothing short of astonishing.
