Premier League clubs paid out a staggering £134.2million to injured players during the first half of the season - with Manchester United the hardest hit.

Jose Mourinho's squad has one of the highest wage bills in world football and they paid injured stars a total of £15.8m up until the start of this month, according to research by insurance broker JLT Specialty.

Injuries to the likes of Eric Bailly, Daley Blind, Marouane Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have proved costly at certain points of the campaign as United trail rivals Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
