League Two Newport gave us a real scare in the last round and led 1-0 until Harry Kane’s equaliser eight minutes from time at Rodney Parade. We won the replay 2-0 at Wembley.
Now it’s our first trip to Spotland (Crown Oil Arena) and Rochdale, currently at the foot of League One with games in hand, conquerors of Championship Millwall in round four.
“We experienced playing Newport and we need to be clever and use that in a good way,” said Mauricio.
“It’s important to learn and Newport is a good example. If we are not capable of finding a way of staying at the same level (of motivation) as Rochdale, we’ll all be upset by the situation because we are all aware of what can happen in the FA Cup.
