In-game audio of on-field officials and VAR teams will be released on a regular basis for the rest of the season after PGMOL and the Premier League committed to the move in an attempt to offer greater transparency for refereeing decisions.

It has been a week of intense scrutiny for referees and Chief Refereeing Officer of the PGMOL, Howard Webb, after Tottenham's contentious 2-1 victory over Liverpool last Saturday.

This included what PGMOL described as a 'significant human error' when VAR wrongly disallowed Luis Diaz's goal, with the subsequent release of the VAR audio from the incident only heightening how disastrous the mistake was.
