Pep Guardiola branded the current handball rule ‘ridiculous’ as the Premier League begins lobbying for change.
The start of the season has been blighted by controversial penalties and came to a head when Tottenham’s Eric Dier was adjudged to have handled inside the box against Newcastle last weekend.
Guardiola agrees with the outcry that followed the incident and is in favour of a softening of the rules, with the league open to altering the rules after listening to concerns and having raised fears with IFAB.
‘Football is an unpredictable game,’ the Manchester City manager said.
