France midfielder N'Golo Kante is set to miss the World Cup through a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined for much of the season.
Kante, 31, has missed much of the season through a hamstring injury that he aggravated against Tottenham Hotspur all the way back in August.
As first reported by L'Equipe, that injury will now keep Kante out of action into the World Cup with the midfielder unlikely to have recovered in time for the tournament.
It is a major blow to Didier Deschamps and the France team, particularly in the context of the uncertainty surrounding the fitness of Paul Pogba.
