Tottenham will be without defender Toby Alderweireld until February, with the Belgian continuing his recovery from a hamstring problem.
The 28-year-old had another scan this week on the injury that has kept him sidelined since the 3-1 Wembley win over Real Madrid on November 1.
Spurs had originally hoped Alderweireld would be back at the start of 2018 but it has since emerged that the centre-half will miss the first month of next year too.
The Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino claimed the injury news will not prompt him to make a new signing in the January transfer window.
