Mauricio Pochettino: No gamble for Tottenham not to spend in window

LONDON -- Mauricio Pochettino has said it will not be a gamble if Tottenham Hotspur do not enter the transfer market before Tuesday night's deadline.

Spurs have not seriously been linked to a player this month despite concerns about their performances without Harry Kane and Toby Alderweireld.

They have two wins in 10 matches without centre-back Alderweireld and four wins in 10 without England striker Kane.

Both players will miss Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round match against Wycombe Wanderers with muscle strains and are doubts for Tuesday's Premier League game at Sunderland.

On Thursday, Pochettino said Spurs would make no signings before the end of the month, adding that there was a "one percent" chance if a "special" player became available.
