Mauricio Pochettino has no plans to recall Cameron Carter-Vickers from loan as Tottenham boss seeks 'best solution' to lack of cover in defence

Mauricio Pochettino insists he has no immediate plans to recall centre-half Cameron Carter-Vickers from his loan spell at Sheffield United next month as cover.

Pochettino is short of options in central defence with Toby Alderweireld out until February and Davinson Sanchez serving a three-match ban for a red card.

Carter-Vickers, 19, is on loan at Bramall Lane where he has started 13 games in the Championship this season and Spurs will only seek a recall if they feel he is not getting the right experience with Chris Wilder's promotion chasing team.
