Matt Doherty was due to have a medical at Wolves on Wednesday before rejoining the club on a free transfer – three years after his £15million move to Tottenham.
The Irishman, who is set to sign a three-year deal, would be Wolves’ first senior signing of a summer of change at Molineux.
He played for Wolves during one of the club’s most successful eras of modern times, when they won promotion from the Championship under Nuno Espirito Santo and established themselves in the top flight, reaching the FA Cup semi-finals in 2019 and the Europa League quarter-finals the following year.
