Harry Kane knew where Adam Lallana was – he looked at him twice as the ball was hanging in the air – and he won the penalty.
The Tottenham striker was clever in how he positioned himself in front of Lallana to draw in the foul. That’s what players do nowadays, and Lallana fell for it.
It was right of referee Graham Scott to call it a foul, and right of VAR Jonathan Moss to upgrade it to a penalty because Kane’s foot was over the line. But Brighton can feel aggrieved that they were not then awarded a spot-kick of their own shortly afterwards.
