Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram will serve a six-game ban after spitting in the face of Hoffenheim defender Stefan Posch during their Bundesliga game on Sunday.
The shocking incident saw Thuram sent off for his actions after confronting Posch in the 77th minute of the match, which Hoffenheim won 2-1 thanks to a late winner from on-loan Tottenham left back Ryan Sessegnon.
Thuram, who has already been docked a month's wages by his club, was also handed a £37,000 fine by the German FA. The DFB revaled the French international would serve a five-match ban in the Bundesliga and German Cup, with the sixth game suspended until December 2021.
