Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren was lucky not to have given away a penalty and been sent off in the clash with Middlesbrough, says Gary Neville

Liverpool were dealt a slice of luck in their race for the top four, according to Gary Neville.

The opening stages of Sunday's clash with Middlesbrough were incredibly nervy with the Reds surviving a penalty claim against them after Patrick Bamford went down under pressure from Dejan Lovren in the box.

Referee Martin Atkinson waved play on and Liverpool went on to dominate the clash thereafter.
