Roma boss Jose Mourinho intervened at the last minute to stop Tottenham from signing Nicola Zaniolo, according to reports.
The Italian club reportedly agreed to a loan deal and future €50million obligation to buy Zaniolo last Thursday, but the former Spurs manager blocked the negotiations in an effort to keep the talented 23-year-old.
It is believed the Serie A club are now only prepared to part with Zaniolo if Tottenham offer the proposed transfer fee up front.

In a bid to convince Mourinho to sell, Spurs are willing to offer up cash alongside midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Corriere dello Sport.
