Jan Vertonghen is expected to complete the rest of the Premier League campaign at Tottenham before leaving on a free later this summer, according to reports.
Vertonghen's current deal is set to expire on June 30 but Spurs have reportedly offered him a new deal for the remaining nine games of the season, which has been extended due to the coronavirus outbreak.
New Premier League rules state that clubs are allowed to negotiate temporary extensions for out-of-contract players by June 23 and there is a growing optimism that the Belgium international with extend his stay by a month, according to the Evening Standard.
