Ivan Perisic had his medical at Tottenham on Monday and closed in on a two-year contract - as the club started telling those surplus to requirements that they can leave this summer.
The 33-year-old Croatia winger will be a free agent when his contract with Inter Milan runs out next month. He is understood to have rejected an offer of £4.25m a year after tax from the Italians to take up a deal with Spurs worth around £170,000 a week.
He will meet Spurs manager Antonio Conte before agreeing his contract.
