Ben Davies played the full 90 minutes as Wales secured a vital first-ever win over Georgia in Tblisi to set up a shoot-out against the Republic of Ireland in European qualifying Group D.
ROI beat Moldova 2-0 while Serbia lost 3-2 against Austria.
That means Serbia stay top of the group and if they slip up against Georgia in their final match, the winner of Wales-ROI at the Cardiff City Stadium on Monday night could overtake them and go straight to Russia. That looks unlikely though with Georgia yet to win a game.
It's more realistic that the winner of Wales-ROI will end up in second – in fact, Wales only need a draw to secure second – and then hope to be one of the eight best runners-up of the nine groups to enter into a play-off for a place in Russia.
