Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris has revealed he was surprised to see how well Ryan Mason has taken to his role as caretaker coach since being named as the surprise choice to succeed Jose Mourinho until the end of the season.
The Spurs keeper recalled watching Mason fight his way into the team to make his debut and praised the former midfielder, who at just 29 is the youngest coach in the Premier League, for stepping into his new role so seamlessly.
'I'm very happy for him, he's got the club DNA and the club means a lot to him and we can feel it every day, we feel it every time he gives a speech to the players and he's very focussed on his job,' Lloris told BT Sport before Spurs' game at Leeds on Saturday.
