Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been named in the squad for the club's pre-season tour of Australia and the Far East, but goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has been left out.
Chairman Daniel Levy met with Bayern Munich officials on Thursday over the possible sale of England captain Kane.
France's Lloris has been omitted so he can "explore prospective transfer opportunities", a Spurs statement read.
The Spurs captain, 36, has made 447 appearances since joining in 2012.
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou refused to talk about 2018 World Cup-winner Lloris when he was asked about him during a news conference on Monday.
