Harry Kane vowed to chase down Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney in the Premier League’s all-time scorers’ chart after he pulled level with Andy Cole’s 187 goals.
The England captain scored twice as Tottenham won 2-0 at Nottingham Forest to continue their unbeaten start to the Premier League season. He also saw a second-half penalty saved by Dean Henderson after Steve Cook handled.
Shearer scored 260 times in the competition for Blackburn and Newcastle, while Rooney’s 208 goals is now Kane’s next target.
‘[It is] still a long way away for sure, I feel fit, I feel like I’ve got many more years left in the locker,’ Kane said.
