Former Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele has revealed he will retire from football when his contract at Chinese club Guangzhou FC expires, after reports claimed this morning that he had already decided to hang up his boots.
Dembele, 34, took to social media to clear up the speculation over his future. He has thanked his followers for their 'nice messages', but outlined his plans to continue his storied career for another year before stepping away.
He joined Guangzhou in 2019 after his seven-year stint in north London, and enjoyed the best years of his career under Mauricio Pochettino.
