Former Brighton striker Bobby Zamora has announced his retirement from football.
The 35-year-old has been without a club since his release by the Seagulls at the end of last season.
A niggling hip injury has plagued the end of the striker’s career and he now requires surgery.
In an interview published on the Sky Bet Championship club’s website, Zamora said: “I think so, yes (his football career is over). It was a frustrating time last year.
"My hip decided to let me down at the final hurdle. It resulted in just training on a Thursday and being in pain.
