FA torn over whether to charge Eric Dier after his confrontation with a fan to defend his brother in the stands following Tottenham's defeat to Norwich on Wednesday

The Football Association are facing a dilemma over whether to charge Eric Dier after his shock confrontation with a fan after Tottenham’s FA Cup exit.

The FA have launched an investigation into the extraordinary scenes following Spurs’s fifth round defeat against Norwich when Dier vaulted rows of seats to drag his younger brother Patrick away after he became involved in a post-match bust-up with a supporter.

The FA will seek observations from Spurs, who began their own probe straight after Wednesday’s penalty shootout loss, and Dier before deciding whether to take any action.
