The Football Association has appointed John McDermott as their new assistant technical director, news which delivers a huge blow to Tottenham.
McDermott held the role as technical director at Spurs and played a key role in the development of the likes of Harry Kane, Harry Winks, Andros Townsend and Japhet Tanganga.
But he has left the north London club to take up the role of technical director Les Reed's No 2 at the FA, where he will assume overall responsibility for all England men's development teams up to Under-20 level and work closely with Gareth Southgate and Aidy Boothroyd in their roles leading the men's seniors and U21s respectively.
