Former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara allegedly lunged at a fan after his new side Billericay Town were beaten by Leatherhead to all but end their hopes of promotion from the Isthmian League Premier Division.
Widely shared internet footage appears to show O'Hara, who only signed for the seventh-tier club last month, attempting to grab a supporter shortly after the 3-2 loss before apparently being led away by a teammate.
A Billericay spokesperson told Press Association Sport the club are aware of the alleged incident and will look into the footage before releasing a statement on Sunday.
Saturday's defeat seems to spell the end of Billericay's hopes of qualifying for the playoffs as they currently sit six points adrift of the top five with only two games of the regular season remaining.
