Erik Lamela admits 400 day lay-off with hip injury was 'worst time of my life' as Tottenham winger returns in defeat at Leicester

Erik Lamela has described his time out of football with a hip problem as the worst year of his life and feared he might never play for Tottenham again.

Lamela returned to the Spurs team on Tuesday, coming off the bench to create a goal for Harry Kane but could not prevent a 2-1 defeat at Leicester.

'I feel good to be back on the pitch but disappointed for the result,' said the 25-year-old Argentina winger.
