Clive Allen has told England boss Gareth Southgate not to let Harry Winks slip through the net.
Winks has played for England at various youth levels but is understood to be eligible to play for the 2010 world champions through his grandparents.
Former Spurs star Allen, however, hopes he commits his international future to the Three Lions.
Winks has made 31 appearances for the north London club this season, and Allen believes he can be a star for club and country.
