Gareth Southgate will check on Wayne Rooney and Marcus Rashford’s availability on Monday night as concerns grow over England’s striking options for the double-header against Germany and Lithuania.
The England boss is already set to be without first-choice striker Harry Kane, who is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a serious looking ankle injury in the win over Millwall on Sunday.
To add to Southgate’s worries, Manchester United strike duo Rooney and Rashford will both miss the FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Similarly, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is not playing regularly under Jurgen Klopp, though Jamie Vardy’s form looks to be improving after an indifferent period.
