The FA are facing double commercial trouble over crucial revenue streams from their flagship cup, the most famous club knockout competition in the world.
Sports marketing giants IMG, who are the senior partners in the colossal £800million global arrangement to sell FA Cup TV rights overseas, are yet to sign the final contract.
The deal is central to the FA's long-term financial health, but it is understood that IMG fear they may be overpaying for their territories, especially with China not showing the level of interest expected.
To add to the FA's woes, Cup sponsors Emirates are undecided on renewing their £30m backing, which expires at the end of next season.
