Dele Alli's career will be defined by medals and trophies... not numbers

His numbers are outstanding. Dele Alli turned 21 on Tuesday and reached that milestone with figures that dwarf some of the Premier League's greats.

Alli reached his landmark birthday having been involved in 40 Tottenham goals so far. At the same age, Paul Scholes's total was 13, David Beckham had been involved in 12, with Frank Lampard 15 and Steven Gerrard 13.

At this stage, Alli has played 63 times in the top flight for Tottenham. When Gerrard and Lampard got to 63 games, for Liverpool and West Ham respectively, they had both scored only six times and created another four each.
