Tottenham Hotspur were in the Champions League, then they weren’t. They were in the Europa League, then they weren’t. They exited the EFL Cup this season too.
What they have left to win, then, is the FA Cup and Premier League. In the former, Tottenham face Millwall in the quarter-finals. In the latter, they are 10 points off champions-elect Chelsea.
Silverware is still available and the north London club need to show they aren’t simply a stepping stone if they are to avoid losing Dele Alli in the not-so-distant future.
