Mauricio Pochettino insists Dele Alli should have been shortlisted for the PFA Player of the Year after the Tottenham playmaker was snubbed for the accolade.
The 21-year-old has scored 16 goals and made five assists so far in a stunning campaign, but was only named in the Young Player of the Year listing – an award he won last year.
And his omission from the running for the main prize surprised Pochettino.

'I think yes (he should be on the senior list) because he's showing great performances every week, in every game,' said the Spurs boss.
