Dele Alli launched himself into the air and gave his Tottenham comeback bid lift-off.
As matches go, this one appeared to be about as meaningless as they come for Spurs, starting 4-1 up, effectively already in Friday’s last-16 draw and with much more important matters ahead amid the mounting pressure on Jose Mourinho and his players.

It is because the old Alli had disappeared that he has found himself out of the picture at Spurs under Jose Mourinho for much of the season.
