Marcos Alonso has paid tribute to his team-mates and the togetherness of the Chelsea squad following their hard-fought victory over London rivals Tottenham.
The Spaniard was the unlikely hero as Chelsea battled hard to put their title rivals from last season to the sword, in what was Spurs' first home game at Wembley.
Alonso opened the scoring with a sublime freekick in the first half, before later going on to grab the winner in the dying moments with the tie finely poised at 1-1.
The victory not only provided a morale boost for the Blues, after getting one over on potential rivals for the Premier League crown, but was also much needed following a poor opening day of the season.
