‘Beating CSKA Moscow could be crucial to Tottenham’s Champions League hopes’, says Spurs legend Clive Allen

Former Tottenham striker Clive Allen believes Spurs can give their hopes of progressing to the Champions League knock-out stage a huge boost with victory at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday.

The north London club remain unbeaten in the Premier League but tasted their first defeat of the season in their European opener against Monaco a fortnight ago.

Victory away in Russia would give them a big advantage against their Group E rivals, although they will be without five first-team players for the clash, including Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier.
