How apt that the Welsh wizard's birthday fell on the same day that we played Newport County in an FA Cup fourth round replay at the scene of the Club's greatest achievement, Wembley, where Cliff helped us clinch the league and FA Cup double by winning the FA Cup against Leicester City in May, 1961.
It's also over 50 years since Cliff faced his brother Bryn as we took on Newport in the FA Cup in successive years, 1959 and 1960.
Even more poignantly, it's approaching 60 years since Cliff first signed for the Club - 15 February, 1958.
