In recent years, the Toronto Raptors have proven to be great surveyors of talent. Finding diamonds in the rough and bringing out the obvious potential that lies beneath them is a tough task, but something the team excels at.
Look at Pascal Siakam for an easy example. Siakam was the 27th pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Even as a late first-round pick, he was seen as a left-field choice – there were probably fans who questioned the decision not to draft Skal Labissière or Deyonta Davis.
Siakam was a raw product who worked extremely hard to adjust his game.
