He’s a bit player on a once-great NBA team, but Kevon Looney got a justly due moment of appreciation this week.
As the NBA’s regular season came down to its final weekend, the Golden State Warriors centre was on pace to do something very few of his basketball brethren manage anymore: play in all 82 of his team’s games.
“Playing 82 is a badge of honour,” said Steve Kerr, the Warriors coach.
Ah, if only it were seen that way by the NBA’s best players. Alas, if playing 82 games did warrant a badge, it might read “I’m a Sucker” in the eyes of many of the NBA’s best players.
