As a lost Raptors season continues to circle the drain, you can see it as a silver lining or fool’s gold: Pascal Siakam, at least, is looking a little more like himself again.
There are those who will tell you Siakam’s late-season renaissance amounts to a heartening bit of consolation in a forgettable Tampa residency. And maybe, when you stack it alongside Chris Boucher’s continued rise and Gary Trent Jr.’s promising arrival, Siakam’s apparent rediscovery of his game does amount to a bright side in dark times.
And maybe, with the NBA’s reigning coach of the year sporting a 20-32 record, it can be spun as the product of a Nick Nurse’s harsh message being undeniably absorbed.
