It was a rainy morning on July 9, 2010, when news broke that the Toronto Raptors had sent Chris Bosh to the Miami Heat on a sign-and-trade deal. To the majority of Raptors Nation, this news wasn’t shocking at all. It simply confirmed something they already saw coming.
The Raptors just finished another disappointing season. Despite re-tooling prior to the year, the team finished 2009-10 with a 40-42 record and just missed the playoffs. The franchise appeared was heading nowhere and even at their peak, couldn’t win a playoff series.
