Vince Carter-led 2001 team was the best the Raptors have fielded

DeMar DeRozan’s contention that this is the best Raptors team he’s ever played on was met with practically universal agreement. This edition has two all-stars, an excellent record and a solid balance of offence and defence. It does have all the components necessary, but DeRozan is only in his seventh season. The franchise has been around for two decades and while it’s not a deep pool, there have been a handful of quite good teams. Here’s our top five in order:

Record: 47-35 (won division, lost conference semifinals 4-3 to Philadelphia)

The only team to win a playoff series was stacked with talent with Vince Carter in his prime, the veteran presence of Charles Oakley and Antonio Davis and the shooting of Dell Curry and Morris Peterson.
