In yesterday’s post, the Toronto Raptors traded out of the NBA draft’s first round by packing the team’s #20 pick and Greivis Vasquez off to Minnesota. Today, let’s manufacture another trade which will see us depart the first round, but gain a solid player in return.
I’m of the opinion that this year’s draft is a yawner after about pick #15. The Raptors’ selection may be worth more to teams undergoing a major rebuilding than it is to our team, which is in need of position-specific help (a power forward who crashes the boards, more depth on the wing).
