Today (July 7), the Toronto Raptors held their first Summer League practice, welcoming this year’s roster to Del Sol High School in Las Vegas. GM Masai Ujiri strategically placed as many quality Canadians as possible on the roster, giving him a chance to evaluate them alongside other up-and-coming professionals. This year, Summer League should be more important than ever for Ujiri and his staff.
The Raptors recently announced Raptors 905, the team’s brand new D-League club. This organization, which will be located conveniently in Mississauga, allows Ujiri to take risks and sign many relatively unknown players.
