It was projected to be a long and boring draft night for the Toronto Raptors this Thursday, and boy did it not disappoint. Masai Ujiri and company watched and waited as all the other non-NBA Champion teams took their picks. Then, with the second-to-last pick in the draft, selected Dewan Hernandez.
Hernandez is a 6’10” bouncy, big-man from the University of Miami who has had an unconventional path to the NBA. At 22, he’s older than most prospects, a near requirement to be a Masai Ujiri draft choice. He’s raw but has the size and athleticism to develop into a legitimate rotation piece.
