The Toronto Raptors have agreed to a partially-guaranteed contract with Michale Kyser, an undrafted power forward from Louisiana Tech University. Kyser played for the Raptors during Las Vegas Summer League (LVSM), where he averaged 3.5 points and four rebounds in 14.6 minutes per game. Most notably, Kyser contributed 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in the Raptors’ final game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

It isn’t hard to see why GM Masai Ujiri chose to spend a little money to retain Kyser’s services. Last season, the Raptors offered the league’s 25th-best defence, which wasn’t good enough to test the Washington Wizards in the playoffs.
