Let’s face it, the Greg Monroe experiment has not worked. Monroe was signed to a one-year $2.2million deal back in August, his sole purpose was to serve as a rotational big man who wouldn’t play many minutes. With Ibaka transitioning to center and Valanciunas still a presence on the roster, Monroe was left to be the third-string center on a minimum contract.
At first, it was okay. Jonas Valanciunas and Serge Ibaka alternated the minutes at center and Monroe averaged less than eight minutes a night in October and November.
