It’s an odd position for the Toronto Raptors to be in. A win technically cannot improve their standings, yet the results of Wednesday’s contest will likely decide their first round opponent. Depending on the results of multiple other contests, a Raptors win against the Heat might clinch a future rematch.
With only one day remaining in the NBA regular season, the Raptors still have the possibility of three different first round opponents; the Miami Heat, the Milwaukee Bucks or the Washington Wizards. Assuming the Wizards take care of business against the Orlando Magic, a Raptors victory against the Heat will lock Miami into the eight seed.
