The Toronto Raptors were shredded by Memphis’ offense in the first half. The Grizzlies poured in 71 points from all over the floor. Many baskets resulted from painless trips into the paint, with an easy floater going splash.
The second half was a different story. Toronto defenders even resorted to the occasional zone defense, which we don’t see enough of these days. The Grizzlies appeared confused by the different looks; in particular, their penetration dropped substantially. They managed 43 points after the intermission, to the Raptors’ 63.
Memphis scored 30 points in the paint in the first half, and 16 in the second.
